Dallas, Texas - The Steering Committee for the Trinity River Authority of Texas’ Clean Rivers Program will meet on Thursday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Trinity River Audubon Center at 6500 South Loop 12 in Dallas.
TRA’s CRP works in coordination with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to fulfill the goals of the Clean Rivers Act. This legislation requires each river authority to “assess” the water quality and related issues in their respective watersheds. Toward this end TRA’s CRP focuses on routine water quality monitoring, special studies and public outreach. TRA’s CRP staff will be discussing updates to the CRP, the Trinity River Basin Highlights Report and the upcoming FY 2010-2011 contract between TRA and the TCEQ. Presentations will include the Dallas/Fort Worth Land Use Mapping and Stream Assessments for the Bear Creek watershed, the Waterborne Education Center in Anahuac and the Process for Obtaining Stakeholder Support and Funding for Your Water Quality Program. Directions to the Trinity River Audubon Center can be obtained at their website, http://www.trinityriveraudubon.org/ |
